Olive Unveils Opus

The makers of the Musica and Symphony have released an audiophile grade CD player that includes a quiet 400GB hard drive. Inside are 4 Burr-Brown 24-bit/192 kHz DACs with custom made temperature-compensated crystal oscillator to eliminate jitters and a processor based on the 32-bit IBM PowerPC. Currently the Opus can encode to AIFF, WAV, FLAC and MP3 and plays AIFF, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC and MP3. The available connections include a 4 port 10/100 switch, RCA Input/Output, Optical Out, Coaxial Out, 2 USB 2.0 ports and a 802.11g connection. The Opus also supports Apple's Bonjourand the UPnP protocol , allowing you to stream your music to and from iTunes as well as listen to Internet radio stations. Because Olive spent time insuring that the OPUS was a low heat and low noise device the Opus should feel at home in your AV rack but tht comes at a price. The Opus retails for $2,999.00.

I think it is pretty much immoral to spend this kind of money on this kind of object, but I would just love it if one landed into my possession. :: drool ::
